Gear
Gear refers to the primary equipment used to survive, explore, and progress in Palworld. It encompasses a wide range of items—including Armor, Weapons, Tools, and Utility equipment—that enhance combat effectiveness, mobility, defense, and resource gathering.
Most gear must be crafted at specialized workbenches, with higher-tier equipment requiring rarer materials and more advanced stations. Players can also obtain schematics, which unlock improved tiers of specific weapons or armor pieces. Many craftable weapons and armor feature up to four schematic tiers, with Legendary representing the highest level of performance.
Armor
Armor provides protection against enemy attacks and environmental hazards, increasing a player’s survivability in combat and exploration. Armor is divided into three primary categories: body armor, headgear, and shields, each contributing different defensive stats and bonuses.
Higher-tier armor offers improved defense values and may grant additional effects, making it essential for tackling stronger Pals, hostile factions, and dangerous biomes.
Weapons
Weapons are used to deal damage to enemies and hostile Pals, forming the backbone of player combat. They include a broad selection of melee, ranged, and specialized weapons, each with unique attack styles, strengths, and limitations.
While some weapons excel at direct combat against enemies, others are more effective for specific situations, such as crowd control or dealing elemental damage. Many weapons can be improved through schematics, increasing their damage output and durability at higher tiers.
Utility
Utility gear consists of equipment designed to support exploration, traversal, and non-combat activities. These items often provide convenience, mobility options, or specialized functionality rather than direct offensive or defensive power.
Utility equipment plays a key role in quality-of-life improvements, and accessing otherwise unreachable areas, making it an important complement to armor and weapons throughout the game.
Pal Gear
Pal Gear consists of specialized equipment designed for use by specific Pals, enhancing their abilities or enabling unique interactions with the player. This includes items such as saddles for Rideable Pals, gliders, and Pal-exclusive weapons.
Each piece of Pal Gear is tailored to a particular Pal species, allowing them to perform unique actions in combat or exploration. All Pal Gear must be crafted at a Pal Gear Workbench, and is essential for unlocking the full potential of companion Pals.
