Medicine
Medicine items are consumables used to treat injuries and cure status conditions affecting Pals in Palworld. These ailments can reduce a Pal’s work speed, effectiveness, or overall well-being, making medicine an important resource for base management and long-term Pal care.
Unlike food items, which restore hunger or provide temporary bonuses, medicine is used specifically to cure negative conditions that impair a Pal’s ability to work or function normally.
While some players may encounter Pal ailments infrequently, prolonged work, poor conditions, or low Sanity can increase the likelihood of injuries and status effects. Maintaining access to medicine helps ensure Pals remain healthy and productive, particularly in long-running or high-intensity bases.
Usage
Medicine is used to cure specific ailments affecting Pals. Using the wrong medicine will not cure the condition, so it is important to identify the ailment first.
To use medicine:
- Identify the ailment: Check the Pal’s status to see which condition they are affected by. Low Sanity (SAN) can contribute to more serious conditions such as weakened or depressed status effects.
- Craft (if needed): Build a Medieval Medicine Workbench or use an upgraded medicine workbench to craft medical supplies. Crafting medicine requires Pals with the Medicine Production work suitability.
- Feed the medicine: Approach the affected Pal and select the Feed option, then choose the correct medicine from the inventory.
- On keyboard and mouse, this is typically done by right-clicking the item.
- Controller: Select the medicine and press the use/action button (such as Y on Xbox-style controllers).
When used, the medicine item is consumed and its effects are applied immediately.
Treatable Conditions
Medicine is used to cure a variety of Pal ailments, including:
- Colds
- Sprains
- Fractures
- Ulcers
- Weakened status
- Depressed status
Some conditions are associated with low Sanity (SAN), and prolonged neglect may lead to more severe ailments that require higher-grade medicine.
Obtaining Medicine
Medicine can be obtained in several ways:
- Purchased from Wandering Merchants
- Crafted at a Medieval Medicine Workbench
- Crafted at an Electric Medicine Workbench
Crafting medicine requires Pals with the Medicine Production work suitability. Higher-grade medicine typically requires more advanced workbenches and rarer crafting materials.
