Treasure chests are scattered throughout the Palpagos Islands and its many Dungeons. The majority of chests can be opened freely, but the higher quality chests on the surface require a Copper Key, Silver Key or Gold Key depending on how high level the area is.
Treasure chests can be split into 6 Grades.
Grade 1
Found in every area, does not require a key. Their contents depend on the area, and can be identified by their distinct yellow glow.
Grade 2
Exclusive to the low-level starter islands, requires a Copper Key to open. Always contains a Schematic for low level gear.
Grade 3
Found in every area, does not require a key. Their contents depend on the area, outside of dungeons they mostly have a lot more Gold Coins.
Grade 4
Found in the Forested, Desert and Volcano areas, requires a Silver Key to open. Always contains a Schematic for gear relative to their level.
Grade 5
Exclusive to dungeons in the Desert, Volcano and Snowy areas, does not require a key. Sometimes spawns in the final room of a dungeon.
Grade 6
Exclusive to the snowy Astral Mountains, requires a Gold Key to open. Always contains a Schematic for the Refined Metal Armors, the Assault Rifle, or the Pump-Action Shotgun
