Passive Skills

From Palworld Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Passive Skills are innate abilities that provide constant effects to Pals in Palworld. Unlike Active Skills, Passive Skills do not need to be activated and are always in effect once a Pal possesses them.

Passive Skills can modify a wide range of attributes, including combat performance, work efficiency, movement speed, stamina usage, and sanity or hunger drain. Some provide powerful bonuses, while others apply drawbacks or trade-offs.

Passive Skill Lists

Some Passive Skills follow special rules regarding how and where they appear. To keep this page focused on mechanics and data, Pal-specific lists are documented on separate pages. For comprehensive listings of Passive Skills, including filtering by various criteria, see the following pages:

Mechanics

Each Pal can have between 0 and 4 Passive Skills at a time. A Pal cannot possess multiple copies of the same Passive Skill.

If multiple Passive Skills affect the same attribute, their effects will stack unless otherwise stated.

Acquisition

Passive Skills are primarily obtained in two ways:

  • Wild generation – Pals encountered or hatched from wild Pal Eggs may spawn with random Passive Skills.
  • Breeding – Passive Skills can be inherited by offspring based on the parents’ traits.

Some Passive Skills are always present on specific Pals, while others are tied to special variants or encounters. These cases are documented on dedicated subpages.

Breeding

Main article: Breeding

Passive Skills can be passed down through Breeding. Offspring may inherit one or more Passive Skills from either parent, though it is also possible for a child Pal to inherit none.

Additional Notes

  • Some Passive Skill effects can also be granted through items. For example, Mercy Hit may appear as a Passive Skill on Pals, and its effect is also applied by the Ring of Mercy Ring of Mercy.
  • Pals with the Nocturnal Passive Skill may remain active at night when they would normally be asleep, making them easier to identify in the wild.

Trivia

  • Some in-game tooltips use outdated terminology, such as referring to "Earth" damage instead of Ground or "Lightning" damage instead of Electric.
