Environmental Hazards

In the vast and vibrant world of Palworld, players embark on adventures across a multitude of locations, each with its own unique set of environmental hazards. From treacherous waters to freezing snowscapes, scorching fires to extreme heat, understanding and overcoming these environmental challenges is key to survival and success in the game.

Types of hazards

Water hazards

Palworld has many lakes and seas. Swimming in them will deplete stamina. If the player is out of stamina, they will begin to lose health in place of the stamina. When out of health, death will occur. This can be alleviated by riding on certain Pals.

After swimming, there is a dripping water effect for on the player's character and pals for 10 seconds. This effect only applies to swimming, as just standing in water will not trigger it.

Cold climates

The cold regions will cause health loss over time, in which case cold-resistant gear helps against it

Fire hazards

There are multiple things that can set the player and pals on fire:

  • Attacks from a fire pal or humans with flamethrowers;
  • Standing on fiery buildings;
  • Standing on lava (except flying pals: they fly above it and don't get damaged).

While something has the fire effect, it will lose 1% of their HP (rounded up to the nearest whole number) every second. The effect lasts for 15 seconds unless they are set on fire again, or get wet.

Extreme temperatures

Deserts and other hot climates, such as the volcano, will cause health loss over time just as it would in snow biomes. Heat-resistant gear can be used to help against it.
