Settlements are small towns or villages, which function as an area to interact with passive NPCs.
Currently, the main purpose of these settlements is to trade with merchants such as the Wandering Merchant and the Pal Merchant, as most of them are either abandoned or underdeveloped. Alternatively, some NPCs may also give advice on where to find nearby points of interest (such as the location of Lifmunk Effigies or Alpha Pals). Lastly, some NPCs may challenge you to battle with their own Pals, or provide you with small side quests (these functions are currently not in the game, but are planned to be included at some point in the future).
