Cooling
Work Suitability of a certain specific pal to cool down certain facilities.
is theOverview
When assigned to the Cooler Box or Refrigerator, the skill level will extend a food items expiration timer. The Refrigerator however only has increased storage capacity over the Cooler Box, and does not further extend a food items timer. Both items also do not drain a Pals Sanity meter, and they will in fact regain Sanity back as they work on it. The Cooler however does still drain the Sanity meter.
Work Speed buffs do affect the extent of cooling when working at a Cooler Box or Refrigerator, but do not affect the Cooler at all.
The duration food items are extended to per Cooling skill level start at 200 Minutes, and each level afterwards adds a further 200 minutes;
- Level 1 = 200 Minutes
- Level 2 = 400 Minutes
- Level 3 = 600 Minutes
- Level 4 = 800 Minutes
- Level 5 = 1000 Minutes*
With Artisan, Serious, Lucky and Work Slave, these are increased to;
- 420 / 860 / 1280 / 1720 / 2140
*Available only to Pal Condenser.
and through theThe Cooler is used to lower the temperature in a fixed area that appears to be around 15 meters in radius. The Cooler however does not have stacking effects, having more than one Cooler in a spot will not lower the temperature in that area any more than having only one. The Cooling skill also does not affect this, the temperature will not go any lower regardless of number or Cooling skill level, nor does the radius of a Cooler extend. This also applies to the Egg Incubator, only one Cooler will affect it where having more than one will do nothing, and Cooling skill level does not affect it in any way. The distance at which the Incubator is placed does not matter.
As it is considered a neutral temperature space, the Cooler does not affect an enclosed, indoors room or building, it does however interestingly, still cool the area outdoors of this space, even through walls, and will affect any incubators in this outdoors area.
Because the food spoilage timer can be reset simply by sorting the container, the longer duration granted by higher work suitability may not be necessary. Even level 1 Cooling gives over a three hour window to be away from your base. However, it's important to have the Pal working at its container as much as possible.
has the advantage of being inherently nocturnal, which saves the work of breeding this passive onto a Pal. You should also use a to assign the Pal specifically to the container, so that it doesn't leave its post to do other work.Facilities that use Cooling

Values
Each food has its own base time. Once the Cooling Pal takes a break the timer resets, so in the end it doesn’t matter what Pal you use as long as it only has cooling.
