Hangyu Cryst

Hangyu Cryst (Japanese: オバケナワ Obakenawa) is the element variation of Hangyu. It shares Hangyu’s small, rounded body and long, flexible arms, which extend outward when gliding to lift and carry the player. Instead of the earthy tones of its cousin, Hangyu Cryst features cool, pale coloration with a frosted, icy look, giving it a colder, cleaner appearance while maintaining the same wide arm span and dangling posture that define its role as a mobility Pal.
Characteristics
Behavior and Habitat
Hangyu Cryst is naturally passive and will attempt to flee immediately upon spotting a player rather than engaging in combat. It often prioritizes escape over confrontation and may cower briefly when first attacked. If pursued or harmed, Hangyu Cryst can shift from evasive behavior to active aggression, defending itself against the player. Once provoked, it will engage in combat and remain hostile until defeated or the player disengages.
Hangyu Cryst can be found all over the Western Astral Mountains.
Utility
Hangyu Cryst is a mobility-focused support Pal that excels at traversal while providing light base utility.
Its partner skill, Winter Trapeze, allows Hangyu Cryst to be summoned and used in place of a standard glider. When deployed, it lifts the player upward before gliding, enabling increased height and long-distance travel. This makes Hangyu Cryst especially valuable for early-game exploration, vertical movement, and reaching difficult terrain without relying on crafted gliders.
At a base, Hangyu Cryst serves as a light utility worker, contributing primarily to Transporting (Lv. 2), with additional support in Handiwork, Gathering, and Cooling. While not a specialized worker, it provides flexible assistance alongside its strong role as a traversal-focused Pal.

Trivia
- Its Japanese name may come from お化け (obake), shapeshifting entities in folklore, and しめ縄 (shimenawa), a Shinto talisman rope, which is also Hangyu’s Japanese name.
