Mimog is a 
Neutral elemental Pal. It was first shown in the Sakurajima Update trailer.
Appearance
Mimog resembles a mimic. Its body colors are gold and black with blue markings, and its tongue is sticking out.
Behavior and Habitat
Mimog can be found around the Palpagos Islands. If attacked it will flee at a very high speed, making it very difficult to relocate if it is able to run away. If it gets too far, it will despawn. Trapping it with walls, a Hanging Trap or dealing enough damage to kill it before it can run is necessary to prevent it from escaping.
Utility
Mimog is able to unlock treasure chests with its Partner Skill, Master of Unlocking. There's also a 80 sec cooldown (at least for copper chest, unknown if higher for the other tiers). The type of chest Mimog is able to open depends on its skill rank.

Trivia
- Mimog’s name merges “mimic,” a D&D creature that looks like a hungry chest, with “dog.”
- Mimog's Paldeck entry is a reference to the Darwin Awards, which are posthumously-awarded honors for dying (or otherwise removing ones self from the gene pool) in stupid, silly and/or humorous ways.
- Defeating a normal Mimog gives the same XP as an Alpha or Lucky Pal.
- Mimog only drops Dog Coins when wild killed/caught and does not produce them when slaughtered.
