Transporting

Transporting Transporting is one of the Work Suitability skills a Pal can have. It allows Pals to move items from gathering sources and ground drops to appropriate storage units within a base.

Pals with Transporting will pick up items produced by structures such as the Logging Site, Stone Pit, and plantations, as well as items lying on the ground, and carry them to suitable containers.

Transporting level determines how many items a Pal can carry at once from large stacks. However, Transporting Pals cannot pick up items from multiple stacks at the same time, and their Transporting level does not affect movement speed.

Regardless of level, all Transporting Pals only carry single items when collecting from natural nodes such as trees, stone, ore, or the Ranch, as these sources drop items in stacks of one.

Carry Capacity

Transporting level affects how many items a Pal can carry per trip from structures or large dropped stacks:

  • Level 1: 2 items
  • Level 2: 5 items
  • Level 3: 10 items
  • Level 4: 20 items
  • Level 5: 40 items

Optimization Notes

Transporting is unaffected by Work Speed bonuses. These bonuses do not increase carry capacity or movement speed while transporting items.

To improve transport efficiency, it is generally better to prioritize:

  • Movement Speed traits, to reduce travel time
  • Food and Sanity-related traits, to allow longer work periods

In some cases, a faster-moving lower-level Transporting Pal may outperform a slower Pal with higher carry capacity.

Associated Facilities

Worksites that are considered 'tasks' rather than natural spawned nodes make use of transporting;

  • Logging Site
  • All Mining Sites
  • Plantations
  • Large stacks dropped by player

Carry Capacity

Transporting level determines how many items a Pal can carry per trip when moving items from large stacks, such as those produced by work structures or dropped by the player. Transporting Pals do not combine individual item drops into stacks. Items that drop one at a time—such as ore, stone, wood, or Ranch products—will always be transported one by one, regardless of Transporting level.

Carry capacity scales by approximately 2× per level, with Level 1 acting as the baseline.

History

  • 0.3.1.0
    • Added Gorirat Terra, Bushi Noct, Katress Ignis, Wixen Noct, Quivern Botan, Helzephyr Lux, Selyne, Croajiro, Knocklem, Dogen and Xenovader.
  • 0.2.0.6
    • Added Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero.
    • Crafted items are now transported from crafting facilities. Selecting "allow transport" when crafting will result in Pals transporting those items to chests when finished.
  • 0.1.5.0
    • Fixed an issue where Pals at the base would get stuck repeatedly starting Transporting tasks and the light bulbs icon would appear over and over again.
  • 0.1.4.0
    • Fixed an issue where Pals would get stuck while transporting items and would drop them on the spot.
  • 0.1.2.0
    • Introduced.
