Name This Pal was an event held on the Pocketpair discord before the Early Access release of the game. The community were able to send in their name suggestions for various Pals that would be shown, and if the developers liked it, they would be picked. After 3 names were chosen, the community would vote on which of the 3 names they liked the most. The one with the most likes was chosen to be the name of the Pal.
Later on, they changed how the event worked, and started to do them in groups. Pals would also be added to existing groups at times.
