Known Bugs

From Palworld Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A community-driven list of bugs for each game version. Should be updated as-needed and often. Please limit bugs to those that are relatively likely to be encountered by others (for example, if you and everyone else on your server sees the same thing).

Note that bugs previously marked for previous versions may or may not be fixed in the latest version. If the bug is proven to still exist, move it to the latest version, and if it no longer exists, leave it in place and annotate it with the version it was fixed in.

0.1.4.1

Critical

  • Some players may be forced to create new characters on dedicated servers after several successful sessions[1]

Combat

  • Pump-action Shotgun reload bug leading to lost ammunition and significantly reduced firing rate
    • Occasional bug where the player is forced to reload before running out of ammunition (remaining chambered ammunition simply disappears and is unrecoverable)
    • Logging out and back in may fix the issue

Graphical

  • Very frequent Pal activity notifications leading to a constant stream of messages popping up on the side while playing
    • Includes notifications for all Pals at all Bases

Map

  • Guild members are often unable to see each other on the map
    • Seems to resolve once the players are within eyesight (but not always)

Pal Work Logic

  • Pals will not work at stations located in "upstairs" portions of Bases
    • If a Base building has a second story (or higher), Pals never seem to go upstairs to workstations located there

Dedicated Server Settings

0.1.4.0

Critical

  • Game saves may become unplayable once the total collected Pal count nears 7000 Pals
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.1 (saves broken by this bug should be playable now)
  • Spending Lifmunk Effigy icon.png  Lifmunk Effigies to increase the player's Capture Power will actually reduce the chance a Pal is successfully captured.[2][3]
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.1
      • PocketPair reported this issue slightly differently in that the Lifmunk Effigy level simply had no effect at all aside from showing the percentage increase, but not actually applying it

Graphical

  • Certain animations may cause the player character to "T-Pose", such as gliding with a Galeclaw.
  • Leveling up Pals in your party will sometimes display text indicating they learned a move, even though they did not actually learn the move.

Inventory

  • Several bugs in the game allow players to duplicate certain items for free.
  • [PC Only] Picking up an item in a chest by pressing the left mouse button, then pressing `Tab` to close the chest, will keep the item on the player's cursor. It can then be moved between chests without the accompanying weight penalty.[4]
    • Performing these steps as an egg is about to hatch will duplicate it. You will be able to hold to finish incubating while the Egg will still be in the chest you placed it in.[5]
  • Items may disappear from tool slots
    • Seems to happen rarely and inconsistently, if at all
    • If affected, it seems to only happen to first tool slot
    • Affected users will not be able to get their items back
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.1

Map

  • Guild members are often unable to see each other on the map
    • Seems to resolve once the players are within eyesight (but not always)

Physics

  • Mantling on top of a Pal Sphere while it is catching a Pal will launch the player high into the air.[6]
    • Present in 0.1.3.0 and 0.1.4.0.

Pal Work Logic

  • Pals with the Transporting Work Suitability are unable to properly transport items
    • They will get stuck continuously-running the "idea" animation and render a non-stop chain of lightbulbs
    • They appear to detect work needing to be done, but are unable to complete the task
    • Ground-based Pals are affected, but seem to work better than flying Pals
  • Pals manually-assigned to the Breeding Farm that fell asleep may never wake up
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.1
  • Trees felled by Pals may not drop any wood
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.1

Pal Combat Logic

  • Placing an incapacitated Pal inside a Display Cage and then taking it out will instantly heal it.
  • Picking up an incapacitated Pal from the ground (dropped by pressing `R`) while the party is full will instantly heal it.[7]
  • Dropping a Pal on the ground (by pressing `R`) then picking it back up will reset the cooldowns on its attacks.[8]
  • There is a glitch which allows players to summon two pals from their party at the same time.[9]

Dungeons

  • Pals can be deployed behind the light barrier which blocks the player from claiming the chests after the Dungeon Boss. Doing this with a Mount Pal and mounting it will allow you to clip through the barrier and claim the rewards without defeating the boss.[10]
  • Moving far enough away from a Dungeon Boss will reset it, and randomly choose a new boss from that Dungeon's pool. This can be used to find and catch specific Pals.[11]
  • When entering a dungeon at night, the Boss of the dungeon will be asleep.[10]

Enemy Logic

  • Talking to a Black Marketeer when an allied Pal is about to attack it does not end the conversation, and the NPC will continue to take damage without becoming aggressive.
  • There is an exploit allowing Boss Pals to be captured, despite being normally immune.
    • When entering a boss battle while Wanted, PIDF Grunts will spawn within the Boss instance and begin shooting at it. When the Grunt hits the Boss, it will start walking into the corner. When it stops moving, throw the Pal Sphere.[12]
      • Exit to the main menu and re-enter to leave the boss battle.
  • Killing all but one of the enemies in a Faction camp, then exiting the game and reloading, will cause all the enemies to respawn, allowing the player to farm infinite loot.[13]
  • Raiding NPCs will ignore members of the target Base's Guild until they get to the Base
    • Players can attack raiding NPCs on their way to their target Base without the NPCs fighting back

Chat

  • No line wrapping for longer messages; messages are cut off when they extend past the end of the chat window
    • Not based on character limit but rather how much space is left in the GUI after the user's name
    • Players with longer usernames have fewer characters to work with (their names take up space on the message line)
  • Pressing the ESC button with an unsent message in the chat window will cause the message to send

0.1.3.0

Critical

  • Memory Wiping Medicine resets Capture Power level and does not refund the Lifmunk Effigy statues back (permanently-lost progress).
    • There is no way to recover progress after doing this.
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.0
  • Game saves may become unplayable once the total collected Pal count nears 7000 Pals
    • Partially-fixed in v0.1.4.0 (saves broken by this bug in the past cannot currently be recovered, however)

Graphical

  • Certain animations may cause the player character to "T-Pose", such as gliding with a Galeclaw.
    • Does not impact gameplay.
  • Player actions not "synced" between players' game clients.
    • For example, if one player is shooting at a Pal with a bow, a player on another client may see them swinging an axe instead of shooting a bow.
    • Appears to be only graphical.
  • Digtoise's mining animation is severely bugged.
    • Digtoise will spin erratically and glitch around mining nodes that spawn in the world (it does not happen for mining camps).[14]
    • May not be solely-graphical as it will only damage the mining nodes for 1 damage per hit.
    • Fixed in v0.1.4.0
  • Players can sometimes climb on "invisible" barrier for large gates when open
    • Player character will act as though the gate is closed and enter the climbing animation.
    • Game client will usually rectify and correct the player's position after a few seconds.

Inventory

  • Key Items cannot be dropped.
    • If you accidentally pick up a Key Item queued up at a workstation, the player will have two redundant copies of the item, and there is no way to drop them to give it to another player.
  • Key Items cannot be sorted.
    • The sort button exists in this tab but does nothing.
  • Sorting items, or moving them between inventory and storage, refreshes decaying item timers.
    • This effectively allows delaying decay on all types of ingredients and Food items.
  • Feed bags only auto-feed the player and not party Pals.

Pal Work Logic

  • Pals will not continue working past the first “node”.
    • For example, if mining with a Pal, once the first rock is broken, the Pal will not assist with any further rocks.
    • Workaround is to recall and send back out the Pal between each node.
  • Pals may sometimes be unable to be assigned to their respective stations.
    • For example, the game may refuse to allow Handiwork pals to be assigned to Workbenches or Assembly Lines.
  • Base Pals frequently become stuck in, on or under various parts of terrain (e.g., up in a tree, below the ground, on top of a copper node, etc.).
    • Once stuck, they generally cannot get themselves free. This generally leads to Pals quickly becoming stressed/sick/injured, as they are unable to eat or sleep while stuck.
    • A simple workaround is to recall the affected Pal(s) to the Palbox and send them back out to reset their position.
  • Firefighting is a lower priority task for Pals than sleeping.
    • If a fire breaks out at night, daytime Pals will sleep instead of fighting fires.
