Pals
Pals are the fantastical creatures that inhabit the world of Palworld. They are found throughout the various biomes of the Palpagos Islands and play a central role in exploration, combat, base management, and progression.
Pals vary widely in appearance, abilities, and elemental alignment. Once captured using Spheres, they can accompany the Player in combat, perform specialized work at bases, assist with travel, or provide unique effects through their Partner Skills. As Pals gain experience and levels, they grow stronger and unlock additional capabilities, making them a core component of long-term progression.
A complete index of all known Pal species is maintained on the Palpedia page.
Interacting with Pals
Players can interact with Pals in many different ways, depending on context and playstyle.
Combat
Pals can be deployed in combat to fight alongside the Player. Some wild Pals are aggressive and will attack when approached, while others are passive unless provoked.
Certain Pals are capable of wielding weapons, and Pals assigned to a base can help defend it against hostile Raids.
Capturing
Wild Pals can be captured using Spheres. Capture success depends on factors such as the Pal’s remaining health, sphere type, and any equipped Sphere Modules.
Care and Feeding
Pals require food to remain effective. Feeding Pals helps maintain their performance and prevents negative effects associated with neglect. Players can also pet Pals, which improves their mood.
Travel and Movement
Many Pals can assist with travel by serving as Mounts or acting as a Glider. Some species are capable of flying or swimming, allowing Players to traverse otherwise inaccessible areas of the Palpagos Islands.
Work and Base Tasks
Pals can be assigned to perform work both at bases and, in some cases, in the wilderness. Each Pal species is suited to specific types of work, such as crafting, farming, mining, or transporting goods.
Assigning the right Pals to the right tasks greatly improves base efficiency.
Raising and Progression
Like Players, Pals have levels and stats that increase over time. As Pals gain experience, their combat effectiveness and work efficiency improve.
In addition, Pals learn new Active Skills at specific levels, expanding their combat options.
Pal Condensation
Pals can be strengthened using a Pal Essence Condenser by converting multiple Pals of the same species into essence. This process grants the enhanced Pal a blue star, increases its stats, and raises its Partner Skill level.
Pal Enhancement
Using Pal Souls at a statue allows Players to permanently enhance a Pal’s Max Health, Attack, Defense, or Work Speed.
Breeding
Pals can be bred to produce offspring that inherit characteristics from their parents. Combining different species can result in powerful or rare Pals, making breeding an important system for long-term progression.
Pal Variations
Some Pals may appear as special variants with unique traits.
Alpha Pals
Alpha Pals are oversized variants often encountered as bosses. While they are larger and carry titles, they do not inherently possess higher base stats than regular Pals. Alpha Pals drop Ancient Civilization Parts when captured or defeated.
Lucky Pals
Lucky Pals are rare, glowing variants that possess the Lucky Passive Skill. They have increased attack and work speed and may possess an Active Skill their species does not normally learn. Lucky Pals can be identified by their golden glow and distinctive sound.
