The Makeshift Handgun is available to unlock at level 25, and can be crafted at a Weapon Workbench.

Overview

The Makeshift Handgun is a pistol designed for close quarters combat. Though it deals much less damage per shot than the Musket, it can fire 6 times before needing to reload, making it a perfect sidearm for early-game players. However, since the Makeshift Handgun and Musket both share the same ammo type, being Coarse Ammo, one must keep an eye on their ammo counter lest they find themselves without ammunition for either weapon.
