A Schematic

Schematics are items that allow the player to craft unique items as well as weapons and armor of higher quality than "common". They can be found all over the Palpagos Islands, usually from Treasure Chests or as drops from Alpha Pals Alpha Pals.

Overview

Schematics unlock a recipe for a single item, which can then be crafted at the appropriate crafting station provided the player has the materials to craft it. They must be in the player's inventory for a player to be able to craft the item that they unlock, having them in a storage container won't work.

Most Schematics unlock higher-quality versions of weapons and armor that can be unlocked from the Technology Tree. While these items are stronger than their common versions, they require more resources to be crafted. Additionally, these items will always require varying amounts of Ancient Civilization Parts Ancient Civilization Parts to be crafted.

Some Schematics unlock items that aren't in the Technology Tree at all. These Schematics typically unlock various vanity items.

Schematics also include a numbering system, with larger numbers producing higher-tier items. Schematics without numbers produce common-tier items, those with a "1" produce uncommon-tier items, those with a "2" produce rare-tier items, those with a "3" produce epic-tier items, and those with a "4" produce legendary-tier items.

Schematics of the same type can also be combined at a Drafting Table Drafting Table into higher-tiered versions of themselves.

Acquisition

Most Schematics can be obtained as loot from Treasure Chests (both the ones in the overworld and the ones in Dungeons Dungeons), from Supply Drops, and from Treasure Map Treasure Maps. Many overworld Alpha Pals also have a slight chance to drop certain legendary-tier Schematics when defeated, captured, or butchered.

A few Schematics can also be purchased from Wandering Merchants.

Notes

  • If you're going to farm Alpha Pals for legendary Schematics, make sure to catch them and then butcher them so you'll have two chances of obtaining the Schematic you want.
  • A great place to farm Schematics is Icy Weasel Hill, due to the abundance of locked chests and high-level dungeons.
    • In the west of the Icy Weasel Hill fast-travel point, there will nearly always be a level 45 dungeon, which can contain late-game Schematics.
